Puerto Rican Ice Hockey Federation

Post by Headcoach » 20 Aug 2009 19:08

The Puerto Rican Ice Hockey Federation has issued a request for all Puerto
Rican-American hockey players to sign up and try out for their National team.
U20 and U18 age players are invited to try out for their national teams to
compete at an International level.

Try outs are scheduled to be held, depending upon the number of players
responding to this request, in late October in Orlando Florida at the RDV Sports

Rob Lopez, the North American Director for the Puerto Rican Ice Hockey
Federation, will be conducting player evaluation and selections for the teams,
as well as preparing the teams for Championships in March of 2010.

“We are excited about joining the International Ice Hockey Federation and
representing our country on the world stage”, says Rob Lopez. “We are hoping,
with hard work, that someday we will be able to represent our country in the
Winter Olympics.”

There are a large number of Puerto Rican kids in the United States we are
hoping to get interested in Ice hockey, travel and see the world, all while
representing their Puerto Rican community.
